It's great value for money and I would recommend it to anyone. As I have doing this course I have decided to join a class and develop my skills further, and I hope to become a qualified BSL interpreter.
I volunteer for a disability organisation and this has come in very useful for deaf clients and visitors who use our services.
I wish they had all the levels online. I have that there 3 different levels and you have to have completed level 1 before moving onto the next one.
It's fun and easy to use. |

| Toni Burrows (13 June 2011) A brilliant way to start learning BSL for me and amazing value for money as well. I start my Signature level 1 award soon and hope this will be the first step towards becoming fluent. I would recommend it to everyone wanting to learn BSL as it is a great way to learn the basics before starting an actual course in a classroom, i think it is especially good for people in work place environments to do this course as there just aren't enough deaf aware companies/employees. My employer is paying for my course as they realise that not only does it benefit me but them as a diverse company also. I did not know anything other than please and thank you when i first met my boyfriend and decided to take up learning BSL so we could talk. Best thing i ever did!! Thank you. |
|
|

|
| Elcin Anastasiou (08 June 2011) This was a great value for money on line course. It introduced me to BSL and really helped me to learn and start my level 1. Even though some of the signing is different to what you learn at college you can over come that. I have since finished my level 1, 2 courses and managed to get myself a part-time job as a CSW. Which will help me to get more experience. BSL has opened a whole world of opportunities for me.
Thank you to the online course. I would reccommend this course to any body. |

It is fun and easy to use whilst giving a good overview of basic conversational sign language. I have been learning with my family and so we were able to practice with each other. I'm now studying BSL level 1, and I feel I've greatly benefited from doing this course. And for the price, I'd say it's well worth it! |

The way that the e-learning system transfers the learning is spot on, and the 'helpful reminders' were particularly useful.
Many thanks again, and thanks to you and your team I'm now on the hunt for my next learning step towards signing |

|
| Samantha June Moore (03 July 2010) I've wanted to learn BSL for a while and but didn't want to learn at the teachers pace. This course is excellent in that you can learn each area at your own pace and go over material time and time again! I've thoroughly enjoyed this course and finished within a few weeks. I am a nursery nurse and the Special Needs Co-Ordinator in my setting and found an increasing number of people with hearing impairments coming into the setting and had no way of communicating myself. Now I feel i can hold a little/basic conversation with them and also make those people feel welcome.
Well worth the money! |
|

|
|
| Ian Ward (30 December 2009) This course was worth every penny. I was expecting to learn how to spell my name and a couple other bits, but it was actually so much more. Learning about deaf people and organisations that represent people that are deaf was great, really opens your eyes. Incorporating it into an assignment was an exellent idea. Not sure if it's me, but i found this course quite easy. BSL really should be taught in schools, instead of the languages that are probably never going to be used! Thank you for this opportunity to learn the basics before i proceed with higher level courses. |

|
|
| Aneirin Wenner (28 May 2009) This course is well worth the money paid for it! £15 is nothing when compared to the value of what your learning! I spose you get out of it what you put in to it.....if you go half hearted at it, you may not learn too much, but if you give it your all, you will finish the course with the basics of the language stuck in your mind!
Cant Fault it! Really good grounding in Sign language!
Cheers guys |

| Alice Morland (14 May 2009) I found the course excellent and good value for money. Thanks to Simon for his help in always responding to my e-mails. Many thanks on getting me started with some confidence in trying out BSL.
As feedback, I would have liked to see the little short videos set on auto-repeat instead of having to keep clicking whilst either practising the signing or writing down notes: I could have done with another couple of hands! |

| Lynda Keen (22 March 2009) I haven't quite finished all the assessments for this course yet but want to say that the course is excellent. I signed up here before I found a BSL evening course and what I learnt initially helped me learn more quickly when I did find an evening course because I already knew finger spelling and some basic vocabulary.
Since I started my evening course, I have found Simon's online course very useful for consolidation, too, as it's easy to forget a lot from one week to the next since my evening classes are only once a week and the online signing jogs my memory considerably.
This course is excellent value for money for those of us who can't afford the more highly-priced BSL courses, of which there seem to be many.
I wish there were higher levels online than only the beginners' course, though, as a CD doesn't give the same motivation to get down to learning. |

| Jacqueline Legge (19 February 2009) A wonderful course that has introduced me to BSL, I would highly recommend it to anyone who is thinking about taking those first steps in learning to sign.
In the past few weeks I have learnt so much, the videos were great and it is so helpful that you can go back at anytime to check your understanding.
Even though i have just finished, I will be returning to check I have not forgotton anything aswell continuing to practice.
It's been fun , THANKYOU for a great course! |

| Luke Banks (19 February 2009) Absolutely BRILLIANT. I had a lot of fun doing this course. Its well structured, has nice little assesments to test your memory, and its easy to follow and go at your own pace. The videos are great and give you the option of chaning the way you view it to suit your style of learning which I found very useful. In around 2 weeks I have learnt an awful lot and its kept me busy while out of work! A real good course, cheers! I have recommended it to everyone! Cant wait for new stuff to learn on here and to go on and do my BSL 1 or 2. |

| Esme Ward (12 January 2009) FAB,FAB,FAB Its the best £15 i have ever spend i enquired doing this course at my college and was told its £125 i would have paid it but found this one online now i can use the money i have saved to learn level 1. Any one that that wants to learn BSL from young to old you will never regret spending the £15 i promise you. I love the idea that me and my kids can sign and other people wonder what we say specially if you want to say some thing private and discreet without the whole world knowing. If you looking at this website you are interested so take the next step you will not regret it |
